Students
OLLIP P.C. hires articling students. Students will be involved in research and preparation of legal documents. Students will also be exposed to all aspects of intellectual property practice, including:
- copyright;
- expungement proceedings;
- licensing;
- litigation;
- trade-mark prosecution/opposition; and
- trade secrets.
Articling Positions
Articling Student positions are available for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 Terms. Each student will directly report to the IP Practice Leader. The articling experience at OLLIP P.C. is designed and ideal for the student, who is able to assume a level of initiative and responsibility is organized and has excellent research and drafting skills in an IP focused setting. We seek people who are dedicated to doing the firm’s type of work. As an IP boutique, there is no formal rotation system. Students receive a competitive salary.
Submissions for Articling positions for the 2011-2012 Term are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
The schedule for the 2012-2013 Articling Term as set out by the Law Society of Upper Canada for the Ottawa market is follows:
- The articling application deadline for 2012-2013 Term is Tuesday, May 24, 2011.
- The 2012-2013 articling interviews will be scheduled between June 1 and 17, 2011.
- The call day for offers begins at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

As the primary source of recruitment, our Articling Students are hired with the expectation of a continued association with OLLIP P.C. after their call to the Bar.
